Montana Football Favored in Coaches, Media Polls

HELENA – Big Sky Conference coaches and media that cover the league predict the University of Montana will win the conference football championship this fall.

Eastern Washington was second in both polls, which were released Tuesday at the league's summer kickoff in Park City, Utah.

Montana had seven first-place votes in the coaches poll, while Eastern Washington and Northern Arizona each received a first-place vote.

The Grizzlies received 23 first-place votes in the media poll, while Eastern Washington got 19.

The coaches picked Northern Arizona third, followed by Montana State while the media has the Bobcats third and the Lumberjacks fourth.

Weber State and Portland State are fifth and sixth in both polls.
