GREAT FALLS – The Glacier County sheriff’s office has released the name of a 28-year-old man who died when the car he was riding in collided with an unhitched horse trailer.

The Great Falls Tribune reports Shannon Surechief of Browning died at 11 a.m. Sunday in the crash at the intersection between BIA Route 1 and U.S. Highway 2 near Browning.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the car Surechief was riding in met up with a pickup hauling a horse trailer as the horse trailer became unhitched and veered into the car.

The patrol says Surechief died at the scene. The two other passengers in the car were injured. One of the two horses in the trailer had to be put down.
