Parsons Wins Whitefish Whiteout Ski Mountaineering Race

Ben Parsons of Kalispell won the sixth annual Whitefish Whiteout at Whitefish Mountain Resort on Jan. 19.
Parsons conquered the course on Big Mountain in 1:26:57. The course featured four ascents and three descents totaling 4,800-vertical feet of skinning and skiing.
The event is based off the European Randonee tradition, where competitors skin up the slopes to the summit and then remove the skins and ski down.
Niki Kimball of Livingston won the women's division, clocking 2:00:46.
