Patagonia Pledges Support for Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation

By Beacon Staff

The outdoor clothing company Patagonia recently pledged its support for the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation by sponsoring one trail project per year for the next five years.

Patagonia is the first corporation to make a long-term commitment toward the sponsorship of individual trips, according to the BMWF. The work is critical for keeping trails open for the public who seek solitude in the wilderness, according to the local foundation.

The BMWF fosters wilderness stewardship and works to ensure access to Montana’s Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. The foundation organizes volunteer trail crews with volunteer packers led by highly trained crew leaders to conduct effective trail maintenance projects every year.

BMWF is sponsoring its annual Voices of the Wilderness fundraiser event on Nov. 9. Tickets are available online or by calling 387-3808. Raffle tickets are available for a five-night, guided horse packing trip in the Bob Wilderness. The trip is donated by Swan Mountain Outfitters. Raffle tickets cost $10 and proceeds go to support BMWF trails projects.
