KALISPELL – An Oregon man who posted photos of his big game kills on a website has been convicted of poaching near his father’s home in Trout Creek and ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution.

Paul Harvey III of Grants Pass, Ore., was sentenced last month after pleading guilty to felony unlawful possession of game animals and misdemeanor unlawful alteration or use of a license.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Warden Brian Sommers says he received a tip that led him to a website with hunting photos of Harvey and his father. Seven deer and two elk were taken illegally.

Paul Harvey Jr. pleaded guilty to felony unlawful accountability of game animals by accountability and unlawful alteration or use of a license. He was ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution. Both men lost their hunting privileges for five years.
