Police Blotter: Accidental Shooting

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Sunday included the following:

2:12 a.m. A drunken woman called in complaining that her boyfriend had stolen her car. Later, though, she called back to say that she had found both her boyfriend and her car.

6:07 a.m. Four mailboxes were trashed on Lion Mountain Loop Road in Whitefish.

9:44 a.m. Someone called in from Somers to say that they saw someone looking through their window. The caller said they couldn’t tell if the peeper was a man or a woman because they could only see their shape through the window curtain.

11:28 a.m. An intoxicated person called in from Electric Avenue in Bigfork to report that their red pickup had been stolen. They called back shortly after to cancel the report because they had found it.

1:19 p.m. Someone called in to tattle on someone in an unauthorized vehicle who had parked in a handicapped lot in Bigfork.

3:11 p.m. A 7-year-old Marion girl was taken from Kalispell Regional Medical Center to Seattle after suffering a gunshot wound to her stomach. Reportedly, the rifle her 9-year-old brother was holding accidentally discharged and the bullet ricochetted and hit his sister. The incident is being investigated as an accident.

3:37 p.m. Someone called in from Bigfork to report that he knows someone has been in the boat he has parked in his driveway. He didn’t see anyone, but he knew they were there.

5:17 p.m. Residents called in to report that their neighbor’s have been abusing their llama.

7:14 p.m. A woman called in complaining that their neighbor had posted signs on her side of the fence. Deputies counseled the two of them.

9:33 p.m. A 24-year-old man was arrested after his ex-girlfriend called in and reported that he was doing ridiculous drunk things. He was arrested for assault, disorderly conduct and driving his car, over boulders, with a suspended license.

10:00 p.m. A very small boy was found at a gas station on US Highway 35. When deputies asked him where he lived he said he didn’t know. Deputies located his parents at Montana Village and took him home.

3:42 a.m. Someone called in from Mountain View trailer park to complain about two men and a woman outside laughing.
