Police Blotter: Ax Attack and Swimming Invitation

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Sunday included the following:

12:24 a.m. An woman called in after she stopped at a homemade roadblock and was pelted with paintballs on Whitefish Stage Road.

2:48 a.m. A woman called in from Lore Lake Road to report that there was a man in her room choking and hitting her sister. The man was gone when deputies arrived. No charges were filed.

3:18 a.m. A woman from Angel Point called in because her ex-boyfriend was attacking her current boyfriend with an ax. The victim’s injuries are not life threatening, but the ex-boyfriend did bite part of his finger off. The victim also suffered leg injuries and lacerations to the head and eye. The attacker was arrested for attempted deliberate homicide.

6:13 a.m. Someone decimated a mailbox with a shotgun in Whitefish.

9:47 a.m. A man called in from the Many Lakes area to ask what to do about people who throw their household garbage over a bank. A deputy found names in the trash, contacted the suspects and made them come pick up the trash and discard of it appropriately.

10:48 a.m. A sow bear with a cub was shot in Evergreen.

11:53 a.m. A jogger called in to report that a shaggy dog bit her on Echo Lake Road.

2:28 p.m. Someone called in from Evergreen to report a small fuzzy brown bundle near the Spruce Park Campground. Fish and Game picked up the orphaned black bear cub.

4:44 p.m. Someone called in because they found an old Eagle carcass.

6:29 p.m. Someone called in to report a weird man at the Old Steele Bridge who was talking to himself and asking strangers if they wanted to go swimming.
