The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Monday included the following:
8:33 a.m. Nearly a dozen mailboxes were smashed and chucked down a hill.
9:50 a.m. A car that had previously been reported stolen was recovered with illegal drugs in it.
10:25 a.m. Audio equipment has been stolen out of cars at Hot Wheels in Evergreen consistently for the past few days.
1:06 p.m. Transients have set up a camp near Hutton Ranch Plaza in Kalispell. As per request of worried Hutton Ranch business employees, they were asked to get a move on.
2:35 p.m. A woman who was bit by a vicious dog out by Lake Blaine a few weeks ago called in to say the dog is still at large.
3:08 p.m. Parents of a 17-year-old girl called the Sheriff’s Department because she has been receiving nasty and threatening text messages.
3:52 p.m. A woman called in because a man with serious road rage was tailgating her. He was following closely in his big black truck and flipping her off. When she pulled over into a parking lot, he followed. He got out of the car and yelled at her because he said she drove too fast through a construction zone. Deputies came and helped them settle the dispute.
4:23 p.m. A woman called in because she saw someone in a station wagon try to steal her dog. They were unsuccessful.
4:47 p.m. An elderly Whitefish couple were involved in a disturbance over bacon cooking methods. The wife said her husband told her that he didn’t like bacon grease splattering on the oven and that she had neglected to use a screen over the skillet. He then shoved her and proceeded to make the bacon himself. She was angry because she said it smelled like he was burning the bacon and called the Sheriff’s Department.
5:51 p.m. A man from out of town called in to say that someone from Lost Prairie told him that if he ever came to Montana he would kill him.
6:03 p.m. Someone in Kalispell called in because they saw a cat.
6:15 p.m. An irritated Whitefish resident reported that her neighbor tore down her fence.
The Sheriff’s Department responded to 128 calls for service.
