Police Blotter:  Captured Goats and Mushroom Wars

12:16 a.m. Less than favorable actions in Bigfork led to a drunken man being ejected from a home.

1:52 a.m. Two males and two females said to be acting suspiciously at the Foys Lake swimming area turned out to be rather humdrum.

5:14 a.m. A morning jaunt through a local grocery store was short-lived for an ill-at-ease transient. He was asked to vacate the premises.

9:32 a.m. Deputies couldn’t locate a bull that was reportedly seen lumbering near Rocky Cliff Drive.

2:42 p.m. Two tan-and-white goats were caught on Fourth Avenue West in Columbia Falls. The capturer said he’d return the goats when the owner called him.

3:55 p.m. Morel pickers got territorial over prime picking spots in Marion.

5:08 p.m. A man who was lurking around on private property was asked by deputies to move along.

5:12 p.m. Mailboxes on Ashley Lake Road were damaged.

8:17 p.m. A tree at the Lone Pine State Park visitor’s center was reportedly on fire.

8:28 p.m. A woman in Evergreen called authorities after she saw a missing dog with three teens. Originally, the dog was reported stolen, but after deputies questioned the teens it was determined the dog had followed them home.

9:35 p.m. Deputies suspect that a sparkler bomb was the cause of damage to a mailbox on Stillwater Road in Kalispell.

10:01 p.m. Someone called in to report that a rafter near Essex was overdue. The man, though late, arrived soon after.

10:07 p.m. Phones at the Whitefish City Hall building were disabled after a lightning strike.

The departments responded to 171 calls for service.
