Police Blotter: Canyon Beer Bashing and Speeding Motorcyclists

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Sunday included the following:

7:10 a.m. A coffee stand on U.S. Highway 2 was broken into, torn apart and ransacked.

9:18 a.m. A Kalispell woman called because she thinks her daughter’s friend may have stolen her purse.

9:20 a.m. A man who reported his gun stolen a couple months ago called in to report that while house sitting for his neighbor he found his missing gun and took it home.

11:10 a.m. An animal clinic on U.S. Highway 2 was burglarized and torn up.

11:17 a.m. A Bigfork resident called in because they saw a woman sitting in her car crying. She was gone when a deputy arrived.

2:35 p.m. A transient that passed out in an Evergreen restaurant was asked to go back to his camp. He did.

3:23 p.m. Someone called in to report that their car was stolen from a Kalispell bar. It was recovered later in the day.

5:04 p.m. An inmate in Juvenile Detention was charged with criminal mischief after tearing up his uniform.

7:00 p.m. Someone crashed into a bar near Columbia Falls. The driver was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

8:19 p.m. A man went into a Hungry Horse home, hit the resident’s son over the head with a beer bottle and ran out. The victim did not want to press charges.

8:47 p.m. Someone in Ferndale called into say that two people in a truck were smoking pot. They weren’t.

11:19 p.m. Two men in their 30s were arrested for driving their motorcycles at 80 mph in Evergreen. One was arrested for driving while intoxicated and the other was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for hitting his 18-year-old stepson over the head with a baseball bat.

The department responded to 123 calls for service.
