Police Blotter: Fun at the Dump, Old Guns

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Wednesday and Thursday morning included the following:

11:14 a.m. A man with a brain injury from Fargo, N.D. threatened to kill someone in the Spruce Park Trailer Park.

12:31 p.m. An argument ensued when two dumpster divers were arguing over the same discarded treasures at the Columbia Falls dump.

1:32 p.m. Pink binoculars were stolen out of unlocked vehicle on Kokonee Bend in Columbia Falls, an area of frequent theft recently. The Sheriff’s Department would like to remind residents to lock up and remove any valuable belongings from vehicles.

1:55 p.m. A twenty-year-old man purchased what turned out to be a stolen gun from a gun show in August. The weapon was stolen in Missoula twenty-three years ago and is being returned.

6:17 p.m. A four-wheeler on Haywire Gulch knocked down a fence.

7:05 p.m. A woman in West Glacier called the Sheriff’s Department reporting that people have been “shaving off” parts of her window, walls and cabinets. Upon further investigation it was found that no shaving had actually occurred in her home.

8:16 p.m. The Sheriff’s Department was called when a seventeen-year-old was throwing things and yelling at his mother.

8:47 p.m. A depressed man was charged with assault after a domestic disturbance was reported on Pleasant View Drive. The man was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. The man then proceeded to walk out of the hospital but decided to return.

12:40 a.m. A mother called when her sister gave non-prescribed prescription medication to the caller’s fourteen-year-old daughter. The sister was arrested.

The departments responded to 150 calls for service.
