Police Blotter: Santa on Death List and Smitten Inmate

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Wednesday included the following:

9:17 a.m. A wayfaring dog in Columbia Falls was caught in an animal warden trap.

1:03 p.m. Parents and students at Somers Elementary School were counseled after a child, who thought his teacher gave him too much homework, wrote a list of people to kill. Two other kids saw the list, thought it was funny and made their own. Names on the list included prominent figures such as Santa Claus.

1:45 p.m. A love-struck inmate stuck in the juvenile detention center got caught carving a heart into a wooden bench.

2:57 p.m. Someone found a dog in a ditch. The animal warden was unable to contact the owner.

7:43 p.m. A Bigfork resident called in to report a suspicious person on his property trying to serve him civil papers.

The department responded to 195 calls for service.
