The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Tuesday and Wednesday morning included the following:
9:35 a.m. A teacher in Bigfork called because she thought one of her students smelled of marijuana. When deputies arrived they found that the odor was not that of pot, but of cologne.
9:41 a.m. A woman in Lakeside called in to say that her tires were flattened. She thought maybe her ex-boyfriend let the air out.
11:34 a.m. Someone broke into a store in Evergreen by kicking in the door. The thief gathered up a good bit of booty, including pornographic material, and ran off with it.
11:41 a.m. Someone in Whitefish stole a $100 exit sign.
12:22 p.m. A woman was caught making threats about another woman. The threatened woman was advised to get a restraining order against the mean woman.
2:33 p.m. A bike was stolen out of the Wal-Mart parking lot.
2:35 p.m. An Evergreen woman called in to complain that the UPS truck just dropped off an envelope from Bank of America containing four traveler’s checks. She thought it was some kind of fraud.
5:06 p.m. A Bigfork woman believes her neighbor has been sneaking into her home and stealing her clothes.
7:53 p.m. A Kalispell resident called because their stove was on fire. They called right back to say they had put it out and did not need the fire department. They called back again and said that even though they had put the fire out they wanted the fire department to come out anyway. When investigated, deputies found that the man’s food had been on fire and, yes, the food had been extinguished.
1:41 a.m. A woman told her mom that voices in her head had told her she would be abducted soon. The woman’s mom called the Sheriff’s Department when her daughter had in fact gone missing. She was later found, un-abducted, at a friend’s home near Foys Lake.
The departments responded to 138 calls to service.
