Polson Man Sentenced for Shaking Infant Daughter

By Beacon Staff

POLSON – A 29-year-old Polson man has been sentenced to 10 years with the Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to shaking his infant daughter in February.

District Judge C.B. McNeil sentenced Christopher Huntsman to 35 years with the department, with 25 suspended, for aggravated assault and criminal endangerment.

Prosecutors say the mother of the infant came home on Feb. 9 to find her daughter lethargic and with bruising on her face. Huntsman told investigators he shook the baby because she would not stop crying.

The baby was treated at a hospital in Spokane, Wash. Prosecutor Mark Russell says she did not suffer permanent injuries.
