Public Comment Sought on Logan Pass Upgrades

By Beacon Staff

WEST GLACIER – Officials at Glacier National Park are seeking public comment on proposed upgrades to facilities at Logan Pass.

The popular high point along the Going-to-the-Sun Road has become one of the park’s most visited places, especially since a new public shuttle system was implemented.

Park officials want to build new waterless restrooms powered by renewable energy, as well as a new shuttle loading area. The current parking lot would not be affected.

The renewable energy sources still being considered for the project include wind, fuel cell, micro-hydro, solar and conventional generators.

The public has until April 14 to comment at http://parkplanning.nps.gov or by writing to the park superintendent’s office.
