Sheriff IDs Hungry Horse Shooting Victim

By Beacon Staff

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry has identified the 71-year-old man shot and killed in Hungry Horse on Valentine’s Day.

Thomas Eugene Edwards was found on Feb. 14 with a single gunshot wound to his chest, from which he could not recover. He was pronounced dead at the scene at First Ave. NW in Hungry Horse.

Edwards’ girlfriend, Pamela Ruth Haines, 55, has been arrested and detained at the Flathead County Detention Center.

Haines was at the scene when deputies arrived just before 8 p.m. after receiving reports of a gunshot. Investigators say Haines allegedly shot Edwards during a verbal argument.

Haines will remain in jail pending the filing of formal charges.
