Slide Show: Montana Dragon Boat Festival
Paddles Up on Flathead Lake
Flathead Lake was overrun with dragons on Saturday, Sept. 8, during the first ever Montana Dragon Boat Festival in Bigfork. Thousands of spectators turned out to cheer on teams of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steerer as they raced their 46-foot dragon boats across the water of Flathead Lake at the Flathead Lake Lodge. In Chinese astrology, 2012 is the year of the Water Dragon and a year to celebrate strength and good fortune.

@NPDXReporter I think I'll start strategically calling it "pre-lunch" too, and then "forget" to eat my real lunch later. #dessertforlunch
