Spring Sports Begin This Week

Amid the flurries of snow and frigid temperatures, I’m desperately searching for any evidence of spring. With any luck, I think that evidence is arriving this week in the form of the high school spring sports season. Of course, Montana weather could have something to say about that.

Softball, track and tennis events officially begin this week for Flathead County’s high schools. The kids have been practicing since mid-March and are ready to go. There is a dual track meet between Glacier High School and Whitefish High School in Kalispell – weather permitting – on Thursday afternoon. Then a busy opening weekend begins on Friday, with a packed schedule of track, tennis and softball.
