St. Ignatius Man Killed in Logging Accident

MISSOULA – A St. Ignatius man was killed while working with some logging equipment in the Polson area.
The Lake County sheriff said Friday that 28-year-old Bryan Zempel was operating a log skidder on private property north of Polson at about 2 p.m. Thursday. Sheriff Lucky Larson says the skidder rolled down a steep hillside, Zempel was thrown off and died from multiple blunt force trauma.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Lake County Deputy Coroner Michael Gehl.
