Status Hearing Ordered in W.R. Grace Case

MISSOULA – A judge has set a hearing in the federal criminal case against W.R. Grace & Co. over asbestos contamination in Libby.

U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy, in Missoula, has ordered a status hearing for Oct. 1 and could set a trial date at that time.

It's been almost three and a half years since the U.S. Justice Department filed criminal charges against Grace and its executives.

Molloy signed the order for the hearing on July 9, after receiving notice that the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals had upheld Molloy's pre-trial rulings. Grace appealed but the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the case.
