By Beacon Staff

Five competitors from Straight Blast Gym of Montana made victorious debuts in the Pan American Kids Championship last weekend.

Youth competitors from around the world squared off at the event, which was held at California State University at Dominguez Hills and was organized by the prestigious International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

“These five competitors represent some of the most experienced and well-trained athletes on our team. They were well-prepared and fought hard in all of their matches,” said Travis Davison, head coach and owner of Straight Blast Gym.

“To compete on an international stage is a honor and challenge that not many athletes will experience. These kids were eager to take it on,” he added.

Athletes competed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, under the rules of the IBJJF. Divisions were by age, skill level, gender, and weight. All competitors from the Straight Blast Gym team competed at the Yellow Belt level.
