Surplus deer, elk, and antelope licenses go on sale Monday, August 8.
Surplus licenses will go on sale on-line at 5:30 a.m. on the Fish, Wildlife & Parks web site: www.fwp.mt.gov. License agents open at that hour will be able to sell surplus licenses as well. Licenses will also go on sale at FWP offices when they open at 8 a.m.
Hunters are encouraged to buy licenses on-line because fewer surplus licenses will be available this year. The long winter and cold spring reduced wildlife numbers, and that reduction will be reflected in the number of surplus licenses available.
A list of surplus licenses will be published on-line at www.fwp.mt.gov on Friday August 5.
