Swan Lake District Ranger Hosts Flathead Forest Breakfast
District Ranger Rich Kehr to meet with public at informal breakfast gathering in Bigfork
The public is invited to spend breakfast with Swan Lake District Ranger Rich Kehr in Bigfork at the Echo Lake Café, 1195 Montana 83. The event begins at 7 a.m. on Friday, March 8. This is an opportunity to hear from the district ranger on current Swan Lake projects and to provide feedback on forest issues.

The Swan Lake Ranger Station is 20 miles south of Kalispell, on the eastern shores of Flathead Lake in Bigfork. The Swan Lake Ranger District contains the headwaters of Swan River, a portion of the Mission Mountain Wilderness, the Swan Mountain Range, and part of the Jewel Basin Hiking Area. Boundaries for the district lie along Flathead Lake and the Flathead Indian Reservation. The Swan-Clearwater Divide is an area used by grizzly bears as a travel corridor between the Mission Mountains and the Swan Mountain Range.

Every other month, the Forest Service will coordinate a no-host breakfast meeting at a local restaurant with the goal of sharing good food, great company and information about what’s happening on the national forest.

"We hope the event will be a great way to keep one another informed on public land management opportunities and challenges that are important to us all," said Wade Muehlhof, public affairs officer for the national forest.

If you plan to attend or have any questions, contact Muehlhof at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or (406) 758-5252. Responses allow organizers to plan accordingly with the restaurant.
