Swimmer Dead After Being Hit by Powerboat on Flathead Lake
Lake County Sheriff's Office say the man was struck in Skidoo Bay
Authorities in northwestern Montana say a 45-year-old died after being hit by a powerboat while swimming in Flathead Lake.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office say the man was struck about 5:30 p.m. Friday in Skidoo Bay.

Spokeswoman Karen Sargeant says the boat operator tried to help the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The body has been taken to the state crime lab in Missoula. The man's name has not been released.

Sargeant says the Sheriff's Office and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks plan to do an accident reconstruction.
