The sun chose an opportune moment to shine this past weekend as Bigfork filled up with restaurateurs and taste testers.

“It was a beautiful day,” says Gretchen Gates with the Bigfork Chamber of Commerce, “we really lucked out this year.”

Sunday marked the 14th annual Taste of Bigfork and the biggest year so far. Gates says 22 vendors showed off their cooking at 11 venues across town; and tickets were sold out.

“It’s eat and drink your way through Bigfork in 4 hours,” says Gates. Gates says proceeds from both ticket sales and a raffle at the end of the event garnered a little more than $14-thousand. She says the Chamber will donate about $2,800 to Habitat for Humanity and $1,000 to the Bigfork Performing Arts Center. The remaining balance will go to the Bigfork Chamber to cover operating costs.
