Tester Announces New Montana State Director

By Beacon Staff

Sen. Jon Tester today announced that Dayna Swanson will serve as his new Montana State Director.

Swanson, who has worked for Tester since 2007, will work with state and local elected officials, business leaders and constituent groups across the state. She will also continue advising the senator and oversee his eight field offices around the state.

Swanson replaces Bill Lombardi, who earlier this month took a position with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana.

“Dayna is a born public servant, and she demonstrates her commitment to our state every day,” Tester said in a statement. “She’s a trusted advisor who knows Montana inside and out, and I’m proud that she will continue working on behalf of all Montanans.”

Swanson, a native of Anaconda, earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Montana. Before working for Tester, she worked for the nonprofit Montana Women Vote and in the insurance industry.

Swanson will continue working out of Tester’s Missoula office, which is located at 130 W. Front Street.

“Since 2005, Bill Lombardi has been a valuable friend and confidante,” Tester said. “He provided sage counsel and helped guide me through two tough election battles. Bill’s ability to connect people with one another made our government more effective for all Montanans. He will be missed on my staff, and I wish him the best.”
