Everything that went into this little house was donated: from the wood, to the paint to the electrician and builders time.
A raffle during the Bigfork Art Festival raised $7,125-dollars for Bigfork High School’s science program, and now, “It’s going to benefit the school even more,” says Mary Siloti of MontanaBuild.
Siloti says the raffle ticket winner just bought a ticket to support the school, when her name was drawn she put the house back on the block. From there Nancy and Dean Ziehl “bought” it for their triplets by giving another donation to the Bigfork science room.
“And the little house gets used by three adorable girls,” says Siloti.
MontanaBuild and George Gibson Architecture teamed up to design and build the little house, Sliters Ace in Bigfork helped out with building supplies and carting the house into town and out, and businesses all over Bigfork and into Kalispell helped outfit the playhouse.
Siloti mentions the high school science programs needs; the teaching tools eat up a lot of the departments’ budget, so some things don’t get bought. One item Siloti mentions as being on the science teachers’ wish list is an anatomical, human body with removable musculature, lungs, intestines, etc. That teaching tool has a price tag over 4-grand.
The drawing occurred on Sunday, August 3rd, during the Art Festival.
