By Beacon Staff

KALISPELL – A 58-year-old Trego man has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor prostitution charges.

Thomas Leone entered his guilty pleas Wednesday in District Court in Kalispell. The investigation began when Leone told police that a women he had paid for sex took his checkbook.

In Montana, the criminal statute for prostitution includes both the person offering and the person receiving sex for compensation.

Leone admitted paying 22-year-old Sonya Pitkin of Columbia Falls for sex on three separate occasions last year.

Pitkin has pleaded innocent to three counts of misdemeanor prostitution. She is also charged with felony forgery for allegedly cashing a check stolen from Leone.

Another woman, 22-year-old Amanda Lea Wyatt, was given a two-year deferred sentence and ordered to pay $1,500 in restitution after pleading guilty to cashing a second check stolen from Leone.
