Senior quarterback Colter Trent led the Vikings to a 21-20 come-from-behind victory on the road against sixth-ranked Forsyth in the quarterfinals of the Class B football playoffs.

Seventh-ranked Bigfork advanced to the semifinals and plays at No. 2 Malta on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. The Vikings lost to Malta in last year’s quarterfinals, 42-0.

Against Forsyth, Trent tied the game at 14-all after scoring on a five-yard TD run in the third quarter. Forsyth responded with a score but Bigfork blocked the extra point, making it 20-14. Trent connected with Chris Landon on a 60-yard TD pass and Austin Jordt kicked the extra point, giving Bigfork its first lead of the game late in the third quarter and the eventual victory.

Missoula Loyola hosts Baker in the other semifinal game.

A safety early in the first quarter ended up being the deciding factor in a narrow playoff victory for Polson.

The Pirates edged Laurel 9-7 at home in the Class A quarterfinals. Undefeated Polson (9-0) advanced to the semifinals and will host Dillon (7-1) this weekend.

A bad snap near the endzone led to Polson’s safety in the first quarter. Will Davey followed with the Pirates’ lone touchdown, a 17-yard TD pass from Andrew Weltz in the third quarter.

Livingston hosts Billings Central in the other Class A playoff game.
