Trials Delayed for Accused in Kalispell Killing

MISSOULA – The trials have been delayed for five people accused in the beating death and robbery of a medical marijuana patient in Kalispell.

The trials for Kalispell residents Robert Lake, Jeffrey Nixon, Karrolyn Robinson, Cody Naldrett and Joshua Fritz are now are scheduled to begin Oct. 25. The first trials were originally set to begin on July 12.

Prosecutors say Nixon and Lake beat 49-year-old Wesley Collins to death with hammers on April 12 to steal his money, medical marijuana, prescription drugs and other items.

Lake and Nixon are charged with killing Collins and hiding the body. Fritz is charged with burgling Collins’ home, evidence tampering, theft and obstructing a police officer.

Robinson, 19, is charged with burglary, theft and tampering. Naldrett is accused of drug possession and helping dispose of the body.
