BILLINGS – Two inmates escaped from the Montana Women’s Prison on Sunday, the state Department of Corrections said.
Alicia L. Luke, 27, and Jenny L. Terrell, 31, escaped from the Billings prison at about 9 a.m.
The women were kitchen workers and apparently left through a kitchen receiving area on the prison’s north side, the Corrections Department said in a news release.
Each was serving a two-year sentence for escape, for walking away from prerelease centers.
The prison initiated emergency procedures and notified law enforcement agencies in the surrounding area, the release said.
The Corrections Department said it considers any escaped convict dangerous and urges anyone with information to contact local law enforcement immediately.
Luke, of Helena, is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. She has strawberry blond hair and hazel eyes.
Terrell, of Seattle, is white, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes.
This was the first escape from the women’s prison in 12 years, the release said. The prison currently houses 180 women.
