Two Men Dead in Bridger Shooting

By Beacon Staff

BRIDGER – Carbon County authorities say two men are dead after a shooting in the town of Bridger in south-central Montana.

County Attorney Alex Nixon says police responded to a report of a shooting at 7 p.m. Monday and found 20-year-old Ryan J. Webster dead of gunshot wounds in his home. A 19-year-old man, identified as Joshua V. Brown of Red Lodge, was found outside the home with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at a Billings hospital.

Nixon says Brown is suspected of killing Webster before turning the gun on himself.

Bridger police have asked investigators from the state Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation to help with the case. The town is about 45 miles southwest of Billings and has about 725 residents.
