Vann’s Given Time to Pursue Sale
Appliance and electronics retailer filed for bankruptcy in August
A Bankruptcy Court judge has granted Vann's Inc. an extension on its bankruptcy filing to work out a deal with a Bozeman businessman interested in buying the company and its five retail stores.
The Missoulian reports the nearly monthlong extension was granted Tuesday by U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge John L. Peterson after a brief hearing in Missoula.
The Missoula-based appliance and electronics retailer filed for bankruptcy in August and announced late last month it would liquidate its assets and close, putting about 150 people out of work.
Vann's CEO Jerry McConnell announced Monday that a "credible" potential buyer had stepped forward. McConnell says a successful sale could save about 100 jobs.
McConnell wouldn't name the potential buyer or discuss any possible sale terms.

Maybe, after the sale, use the buiding and land to teach the flathead valley how to drive. After a visit back for 3 days after being gone for 3 months, my God, get me out of there.. 10 years of living there did not lie.
