Video from Last Week’s Working Forests Conference
Sprout Films
I sat in on the "Working Forests, Managing Communities," conference hosted by Gov. Brian Schweitzer at Flathead Valley Community College for an hour on Thursday, and I'm delayed in posting this but wanted to point out the excellent video that kicked off the conference. The film is by Missoula-based Sprout Films, which is run by my former house-mate when I was in school down there, Katy Magruder. It's an excellent short piece that sums up many of the conflicting interests and dilemmas facing Montana's wood products industry, yet the film also manages to convey the optimism so many feel in both the timber industry and among conservation groups. It's worth a quick view.
