Voisin Places Fourth in Park City Qualifier
Whitefish skier barely misses podium in second to last Olympic qualifier
Maggie Voisin just missed a top-three finish at the Olympic qualifying event in Park City, Utah, on Friday, and remains in close contention for a trip to Sochi, Russia, for the upcoming Winter Games. She competes in the final Olympic qualifier on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. The event can be viewed on NBC or online.

The 15-year-old from Whitefish finished in fourth place overall after scoring 86.6 on her second run in the ladies' slopestyle ski competition at the Grand Prix Freeskiing event. Voisin, who was sitting in third place with one rider remaining, was bumped from the podium after Dara Howell of Canada scored 87, earning second place. Devin Logan, the top-ranked American slopestyle skier, won the competition with a score of 87.4. The victory solidified Logan's spot on the Olympic team.

Canada's Kaya Turski placed third, 86.8. Darian Stevens from Missoula finished in last place, 13th, after scoring 24 and 24.4 in her two runs.

Voisin, described by television commentators as a fan favorite in the freeskiing community and at Friday's event, landed in second place after the first series of runs on Friday.

Voisin will have a chance at locking up a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team in Saturday's slopestyle event at Park City, which is the final Olympic qualifier before Sochi. A top-three finish could guarantee Voisin one of the four open spots for American female slopestyle skiiers.
