A Whitefish woman has denied charges filed after her husband was stabbed in the chest on Nov. 25.
KTMF-TV reports 39-year-old Annmari Newton pleaded not guilty to assault with a weapon during a District Court hearing on Thursday. She remains in the Flathead County jail.
Chad Newton underwent emergency surgery at Kalispell Regional Medical Center and continues to recover from his injuries.
Court records say the couple’s two young children were at home at the time of the stabbing.
