Whitefish Woman Killed in Highway 93 Crash
Woman was hit while making left turn
A Saturday afternoon crash on U.S. Highway 93 North in Kalispell resulted in the death of a Whitefish woman.

According to the Kalispell Police Department, Debbie Caferro, 58, succumbed to injuries received in the June 15 crash, which occurred at about 2 p.m. when she attempted to turn left onto Grandview Drive from Highway 93. Caferro, who was driving a 1983 Toyota Corolla, was hit on the passenger side by a northbound 1992 Nissan Pathfinder.

The driver of the Nissan, a 17-year-old Kalispell boy, sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Initial investigations have led KPD and Montana Highway Patrol to believe that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and investigators believe Caferro was wearing her seatbelt.

KPD and MHP will continue to investigate the crash.
