Wolfpack Hold No. 3 Ranking as Polls Solidify

By Beacon Staff

The high school basketball rankings have cemented into place with the postseason arriving.

In Class AA, the streaking Glacier boys are still ranked third with one game left, a cross-town rivalry showdown at home against Flathead on Friday night. With a win, the Wolfpack will clinch their second Western AA title in a row.

In Class A, the Columbia Falls boys enter this week’s divisional tournament as the fourth ranked team in the state. Winners of three straight divisional titles and last year’s state title, the Wildcats are rolling into postseason play on a 10-game win streak. They play Friday at home against the winner of Thursday’s Polson-Libby game.

Frenchtown, the newest member of Northwestern A, has the second ranked girls team. The Lady Broncs play Libby on Friday at 2 p.m.

In Class B, Bigfork is at divisionals this week in Hamilton. The boys beat Loyola handily on Wednesday night in the opening round and are playing Thursday night. The Bigfork girls played St. Ignatius Thursday night.
