UPDATE: Woman Killed, Two Injured in Lake County Crash

By Beacon Staff

MISSOULA — Two vehicles collided head-on on U.S. Highway 93 between Arlee and Ravalli, killing a 39-year-old Lake County woman and injuring two others.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the woman was driving northbound at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday when her car appeared to drift into the southbound lane where it struck an oncoming pickup truck.

Trooper Shad Andersen tells the Missoulian the pickup couldn’t avoid the collision because of the guardrail.

Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin identified the victim as Yvonne M. Barnaby. A 4-year-old girl riding in Barnaby’s car and the man driving the pickup were taken to the hospital in Ronan.
