Eh Gads another wacko on the loose. Its really sad to read & hear this new this morning. Such a
shame things happen like this. 14 people enjoying their last movie…yet, did not know it.

Some where, someone….a lot of people:  teachers, parents, friends, classmates, professors,
other people around this man (loosely) had to see something wrong with his actions, his
demeanor, his words, his facial expressions…..AN ALL MISSED THEM….sad day.

The story about his parent & how their hearts go out to the victims….a little late. If the parents did
not see something amiss in their son…..hope he was an only child….and the shooter get the “chair
or hangmans noose”. Bring back public hanging….make a visible impression on people…can’t
hurt for sure….as endless death penalty appeals go on for decades.

You know, it seems that the media would rather cover a story about how firearms were used in
taking the lives of innocent victims, rather than how firearms are used to save the lives of innocent
would-be victims.

The mainstream media isn’t interested in giving the news straight. All too often they’ve got an
agenda when it comes to Second Amendment stories, and that agenda is simple: make the law-
abiding gun owner look bad. So they ignore incredible stories of armed self-defense in favor of
attacking the right to carry.

Here are some statistics from a government agency (no less) about homicides in the US:

http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/index.cfm?ty=pbdetail&iid=2221

Pertinent info from this link:

-The proportion of homicide incidents involving two victims has increased slightly from 2.7% in 1980
to 3.7% in 2008.

-Homicide incidents involving three or more victims have also increased during this same period, but
have remained less than 1% of all homicides each year.

-Multiple victim homicides are so small as to be almost insignificant:
- 3.7% involved two victims
- 0.5% involved three victims
- 0.2% involved four victims
- 0.1% involved five or more victims

Moreover, the homicide rate in the United States has declined sharply in recent years – from 9.3
homicides per 100,000 in 1992 to 4.8 homicides per 100,000 in 2010.

OK…all people reading the story about the shooter in Colorado….find a web site & take a look at
the mans (creeps) eyes…...only takes a minute to see he is not all there mentally. Looks like a
deer in the headlights of a car. Crazy look on his face & eyes especially…..someone should have
seen this a long time ago. When I was teaching & subbing….when I saw a student with mixed up
eyes & looks….I got them help…even if I was just a sub.
Suprised to hear from the students…..my regular teacher never saw my mental anguish…..how did
you…...???? Just look….and of course see the lack of interaction in the classroom.

SO…this dropping out of college nut had/has a mental problem….too late. Hang Em

And…JB….being a studen to facts it looks like…..you ought to know how %‘s lie so bad & distort
the real data.

You’d think Batman could have shown up and prevented this.  Maybe it was a job for Superman but he
didn’t get the call.  I don’t know but now the TSA is going to be moving into all theaters in the country to
strip search movie goers.
Yeah just for once I’d like to see some good old fashioned justice done.  Like that would even be
possible.  He’ll be fat and happy and comfy in prison for a while.

Remember the shooting in Rifle, Colorado a few years ago where 3 were killed and four were
wounded?  The guy was discharged from the Army with mental issues, some form of schizophrenia
I believe.  He went off medication and made threats, particularly against his family and illegal aliens.
They asked repeatedly for help to get him under control and were told nothing could be done until
he really did something.  So he did.
The Attorney General tried to turn it into a political tool by claiming it was a hate crime against
illegals, and some Catholic bishop from Mexico turned up to get attention for illegals.  Even the
migrant community recognized he was mentally ill because they had encountered him before.
The guy is now on his prescription but in a state hospital probably for the rest of his life. Some
sensible court recognized the problem was mental illness before they had a trial.
Identifying the threat doesn’t necessarily prevent these tragedies.
We need to do something about our stupid rights for everybody no matter what the result might be
and do something proactive.  We can’t stop it all, but some of this is tragically obvious.  But don’t
tell that to the ACLU.
Maybe we should all be relieved the issue of hate crime hasn’t come up yet in this case.
I’m sure the Hollywood liberals who planned to make a fortune off this movie are sorely
disappointed, but maybe, knowing how our mentality works, this will probably make the movie a
blockbuster.
Wonder if the Obamas got to see a free screening?

Where were guns used to save the lives of innocent people in this story? Do you want “the media”
to concoct a story line that is simply not there?

@bee - You’re misinterpreting what I said.  I am saying that the media would rather cover a story like
the one in Aurora, rather than cover a story where the use of a gun saved lives - and that the
mainstream media has an agenda when it comes to Second Amendment rights.

In the past 12 months, how many stories have there been where use of a gun saved lives?  And
didn’t involve a law enforcement officer?

@bo - Thank you for making my point for me.  I can think of many stories, but there was a recent one
where a Florida man used a legally concealed pistol to run off 2 would be thieves:

One also certainly can’t deny that many stories of saving the day and/or self defense go unreported as
well - I sincerely doubt there are any “massacre/mass shooting” stories that do not get reported.

The ABC story I mention in the above post seems to be the exception rather than the rule.
