Disappointed by verdict, residents try to put suffering behind them

As a 10 year libby resident ( the first 10 years of my life) I cannot understand how our goverment could do such a thing to its own people?! I also cannot believe someone would even think about using Asbestos/ Vermiculite on the baseball fields for even a second!!! Exposing all Libbys children to such a hazard blows my mind!!! Thank you W.R Grace for a certain death sentance.

I am telling all of you that Libby Mt IS NOT a safe place to live and raise a family. Libby continues to kill more people by the lies being told/sold that Libby is safe.Libby is NOT safe and Libby will NEVER be made safe specially since all the trees contain deadly levels of asbestos alone with the town which is still full of asbestos.10 years and millions spent and Libby is no safer than it was in 1999 when EPA came to town and began lieing to the people of Libby.Someone has to stop this deadly exposure and it isn’t done by inviting them into a environment that kills you. Children MUST be the priority to protect. All the schools in Libby are contaminated and the children exposed everyday.Put human life first and tell people the truth. the truth will save there lives.Wish someone would of told my family the truth before we were all told we are dieing from the same thing from breathing the deadly air in/of Libby Mt.Where are these worthless politions who also allow this deadly exposure to continue. They too are selling Libby as safe. When you know it is not…Who care huh?

I to remember playing in the vermiculite piles as a child.I remember the little shiny flakes in the garden,in my pockets and floating in the water. It flowed from cracks in the wall and when the wind blew it went everywhere. It is not nearly as easy to find here now but it is still pretty common to find it in an attic ,wall, or garage. People need to get the picture, this stuff will kill you, there is no point in hiding the facts,if you are one of the many people who are living or working in a contaminated building because you are afraid to say or do something, wise up. OK the value of the property may be diminished, you may have to move, lose your job, or pay the bill, but living with the idea that you are killing yourself and others might be harder. We need to get this thing cleaned up and go on. Just because no one found out that your place is contaminated does not mean that it is going to go away. And when it burns down it will likely end up killing some poor volunteer firefighter. Leave that one on your conscience.

And this stuff is in how many places in the U.S.?  Since reading this article I have found numbers from 25 to 45 million households across the U.S.  And that is just a rough guess.  Dean, keep on keeping on and good luck to you.
