This plan for a “smart grid” will be a very neccesary part of an overall revamp of our existing power distribution infrastructure - but we need to fix what is broken as well, not just add to what we have already.  We need to take into account additional energy demand - for such uses as hybrid and electric autos - and there needs to be an infrastructure developed for this as well.  Tapping into renewable resources (solar, wind, etc.) will help alleviate some of the cost, but it will need to pay off the initial investment first.  Don’t count on this being a quick transition - we are looking at a minimum of 15-20 years into the future.

Yeah, you’re right, mooseberry - I guess I was just being wishful about things making sense…I must admit, it felt good there for a while.

The reality is, it will never fly - not with our government calling the shots on it.

is it april fools day?  did I already hibernate?  Or just wake up in perpetual hell where JB’s nonsense actually is true!
making sense and JB are polar opposites - a heads up for for anyone that happens to wander in here…...

if it makes sense and saves money and doesn’t pollute or otherwise cause the immediate neighbors grieve then it flies in the face of everything mooseberry, jb and their pro- corporate apologist ways believe in…..

all hail the great corporate leaders!  We can’t do it without them!  They deliver us to calm waters…...balha blah blah

carry on JB…. finish it for me…..I mean it is YOUR mantra…..
