Comments on: Army: 12 Dead in Attacks at Fort Hood, Texas
By Rawhide on 11-05-09
42 people shot by one gunman using 2 handguns? Assuming some people may have been hit more than once and some shots no doubt missed, that’s a lot of shooting for 1 man with 2 handguns. I think there’s more to the story.
By dsrobins on 11-05-09
Seung-hui Cho, the Korean born student shooter at Virginia Tech, killed 32 people using two handguns and wounded a number of others. A well trained marksman can do enormous damage in a short time given the dreadful destructiveness of handguns sold over the counter all over America these days. The Army major, although a doctor, probably had access to good weapons and certainly had ample opportunity to practice, particularly given his impending overseas deployment to Iraq. The folks to blame for this are GWBush and Dick Cheney who started this obscene and totally unnecessary war in Iraq and those who support its continuation. The deaths and injuries at Fort Hood today are yet another part of the dreadful legacy that the criminal GWBush regime and the Republicans bequeathed to America.
By Rawhide on 11-05-09
Without trying to turn this trajedy into a political statement, it still seems odd that one shooter could do this on a military base where most of the victims were combat trained people, or were there civilian victims? He would have had to reload several times.
By dsrobins on 11-05-09
The shooter himself was a military person, albeit not a combat arms officer, but everyone in the Army is expected to learn how to shoot and shoot well. Don’t forget that Lee Harvey Oswald, an ex-marine, hit President Kennedy with two head shots from a considerable distance using a cheap old rifle with iron sights and no telescope. It speaks to the quality of marksmanship training in the military. It’s also useful to rember that troops and other personnel in an overseas processing center are not armed, and they certainly don’t expect to be attacked at a stateside base. There is still a great deal to be learned about this awful incident. Possibly there was an accomplice, but it’s too early to say. The other part of this tragedy is that American Muslims… and there are many… bravely serving our country will now all fall under suspicion. There will be ugly incidents of mistreatment of utterly innocent Muslims in the military and in many other places in America as well, just as there were after 9/11. That’ll be another part of the dreadful legacy left to us by the previous administration.
By Rawhide on 11-05-09
If this guy is mentally disturbed and acted alone, then there is no reason to think that anyone should feel any ill will towards America’s many loyal Muslim citizens.

dsrobbins; Are you fishing for a sucker with that lonegunman conspiracy theory. How about a Mindcontrol theory? The Major Malik had been given a poor review and was moved from his six year long Walter Reed Hospital job to Ft. Hood and was faceing deployment to Afganastan. Thats a lot of built up anxiety.
By Billy on 11-06-09
Truth is stranger than fiction.A thousand theories will spring from up including mine.
Most will discard every theory except the official version.
Listen to cj.
Are they talking about this on TV??

The media has failed to ask some important questions about the shooting at Ft Hood. These questions could change the whole story of what is being reported.
1) What specific kind of handguns did Major Hasan use? A revolver typically holds 6 rounds and is slow to reload. A semi-automatic typically holds 8 to 10 rounds, depending on the caliber and size of magazine. Thirteen dead and 30 more injured. How many more shots missed? That is a lot of shooting for a single gunman with only 2 handguns.
2) How could the base commander state at 3 pm they believed there was only 1 shooter, and he is dead, and then 5 hours later they identify the shooter, who is alive (and has a motive for what he did)? Why did they initially believe the shooter was amongst the dead? Who was that dead person?
3) Why has the total count of people killed or injured increased today (not counting the injured person who died in the hospital)? The media’s numbers don’t add up.
4) What are the witnesses and victims of this shooting saying?
One has to admit, a lone deranged shooter on a military base is a much cleaner scenario to explain than several shooters. Just a few questions the media has failed to ask, and Inquiring minds would like answered. (I see my critics and the nay sayers pounding at their keyboards now!)

Hell of an assault for a psychiatrist. The don’t usually train to that extent.
They had been watching him for a while because of his argueing and internet posts.
At Walter Reed he required additional attention.
By dsrobins on 11-06-09
Actually, it’s quite possible that the doctor was both Palestinian and Jordanian. Tens of thousands of Palestinians fled into Jordan in 1947-48 and more followed after Israel took half of the West Bank territories in 1967. They then proceeded to expel even more Palestinians into Jordan in the following years. Jordan was one of the few Arab states to grant passports to the Palestinian refugees. As the PLO rose to power in Jordan and began to challenge King Hussein’s government, many Palestinians sought to emigrate to America, the doctor’s parents among them. They were lucky to escape just before Black September of 1970 when the Jordanian military attacked the PLO and the refugee camps driving the Palestinians away yet again. To this day, it remains possible for tens of thousands of Palestinians to hold both Jordanian and Palestinian passports.
By dsrobins on 11-06-09
It should be noticed, of course, that the doctor was born in America and is therefore an American citizen by birth. Not at all unusual.
By Vud on 11-06-09
Could our service men be on the verge of mass mutiny?
Doubtful. But there is NO question that military families have borne the brunt of the current bad economy…and that’s true even IF their deployments have gone well.
By dsrobins on 11-06-09
Actually, the military families have not borne the brunt of the currently bad (adjective preceded by correct adverb). They at least have jobs, benefits, health care, life insurance, etc., etc., etc. They have, however, borne a horrbile burden of trying to defend our country in the obscene and totally unnecessary war in Iraq and the other one in Afghanistan that seemed to be justified at the start but seems much less so now thanks to the seven year neglect of GWBush, Dick Cheney, et al. A soldier’s life is never easy, but they still deserve our respect despite how badly and negligently they were led in the past. Hopefully, things are improving now.
By dsrobins on 11-06-09
Sorry, left out the word economy in the first sentence. My bad.
By Rawhide on 11-07-09
Apparently Obama’s habit of blaming others for his own ineptness is catchy.
By Billy on 11-07-09
On Fox video via prisonplanet.com Governer Rick Perry of Texas said there were three shooters . One was killed and two were in custody. It is possible he was initially misinformed.
By Billy on 11-07-09
I would not push any scenario off the table. Something is happening here.
Has anything been said by the wounded?

10-4 Vud. The talking heads finaly got their films together and we can understand a little better what’s going on based on past news articles.
Why we don’t hear from any wounded makes me wonder .
By Rawhide on 11-07-09
The video suggesting that violence on military bases is related to soldiers suffering from combat related stress doesn’t apply to Maj. Hasan. He has never been outside the U.S. let alone ever served in combat. The words “Allahu Akbar” he aledgedly yelled when he opened fire, which the 9/11 terrorists also yelled, says it all.
By Billy on 11-07-09
I agree with you most of the time Rawhide but who said he yelled that. And would that be enough for a conclusion. Should we attack Palestine or Jordan or intensify the liberation of Afganistani blood.
By Rawhide on 11-07-09
Billy: The base commander Lt Gen Cone stated witnesses to the shooting told him Maj Hasan yelled that when he began shooting. Perhaps the general wasn’t being politically correct, just honest. What we should all do is become more informed about the Islamic Jihad extremists responsible for the terrorist attacks occurring all around the world. Read “Inside the Revolution” by Joel Rosenberg, if you want to know what the terrorist experts are saying.
By Billy on 11-07-09
Thank you Rawhide.Too much is hidden behind political correctness already.
Another possibility is Gen. Cone was dis-informing.
I will look at Joel Rosenberg info.

By JB on 11-07-09
According to some new reports, the weapon Hasan used was an FN (Fabrique National) 5.7mm pistol, with a 20 round magazine. Those same news agencies are also saying that the round is not commercially available, which is not true - it can be bought over the counter at any sporting goods store that sells FN firearms. I’ve seen ammo for it available locally here.
I don’t own one myself, but have had the opportunity to shoot one - it is extremely accurate at ranges of up to 100 yards. I was able to hit a ram silhouette with it at that range several times with open sights - and I am no expert marksman, especially with a pistol.
By dsrobins on 11-07-09
Actually, Major Nidal had two weapons, not just one. He may also have had the standard U.Sm military 9mm Beretta pistol made in Italy which replaced the old M-1911 .45 caliber pistol best used for throwing at ranges in excess of 50 yards, and deservedly discarded by the Army in the late 1980s. He also reportedly had a Glock .40 caliber S&W, a pistol very similar to the Beretta with the round designed by Smith and Wesson. In any case, this Glock… now known as Model 22 or 23, has been widely adopted by police forces around the world. Perhaps the young lady civilian cop who bravely ran up and took him down had one of those. What you can always be sure of is that the U.S. armed forces will always be armed with a weapon that is at least a decade out of date.

The lies of bush and obama are perfectly clear. We are still in countries fighting to take them over. We have no business being there and this is just another example of the insanity that arises in the ranks when they know we don’t belong. I believe our fighting men and women are programmed and are being given drugs to overcome their negative responses to these “wars” and perhaps this person or persons were beyond the stage of sanity! Remember, John Kennedy WANTED TO DISBAND THE FEDERAL RESERVE!!! The man they say killed him did NOT DO IT ALONE! I do not believe the tragedy in New York was the work of “terrorists” either. They were USED but they were not alone. All of it is leading to One World Order!!! You can bet on it!!!
By Rawhide on 11-08-09
CJ: WOW! What are you tripping on so early in the day?
By Billy on 11-08-09
CJ; Good points. Are people afraid to consider the possibilities? I don’t blame them.

By CJ on 11-08-09
Rawhide, I don’t trip I read and watch. Perhaps you should try it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VebOTc-7shU
By CJ on 11-08-09
You also might want to ask yourself, why are so many of our young “soldiers” committing suicide BEFORE they are sent to these foreign countries that we don’t belong in!!! They don’t believe in it? They are drugged to death? The cannot take the mind control any longer? And yes, they do practice mind control!! Even back in the early 60’s when I was in, it was total mind control and fear!!! I was stationed in Charleston, SC. I had never seen racism. I had black friends. I was hammered and ridiculed and harrassed because I chose these friends. I was threatened and subjected to flat out lies and lost rank because of it. But you know what, they were still my friends even after discharge!!! I did not believe ANYONE HAD THE RIGHT TO SAY WHO MY FRIENDS WERE BECAUSE OF COLOR!!! Still don’t period! That is our government at work. And I quote: You are not paid to think airman, you are paid to follow orders…unquote!!!
By CJ on 11-08-09
Oh and by the way, if you think our government, corporations and religions are not creating mind control in this country just read the propoganda and listen to the news. We will have One World Government within the decade!!!
By Rawhide on 11-08-09
CJ: I’ve seen that youtube video before and agree with much of it, however, the following statements you made are just plain nonsense:
“I believe our fighting men and women are programmed and are being given drugs ... . I do not believe the tragedy in New York was the work of “terrorists” either.”
By CJ on 11-08-09
So Rawhide, years in training to KILL (watch and listen carefully to the words in the above pbs special) is not programming? In Viet Nam do you think our service men were not on drugs and do you really believe they are not now?As for New York and John Kennedy, do a little research buddy and don’t be blind when the truth comes out. It was to keep Kennedy from blowing a hole in the federal reserve and It was a setup to get us into Iraq which is now on to Afghanistan and then to the next and next and next. Our boys go in and die and kill so that we can go in and “clean up” and set up the corporations in the “new world”. Come on boys wake up. Why do you think the health care bill is passing (control) and next will be the cap & Trade (control) and then the dollar (control). I have said it before, we are a nation of blind sheep being led to the slaughter. You will lose the country to One World Order within a decade. The agenda is clear to anyone that reads the truth. Not hysterical, just facts! This site is being monitored right now..believe it! Maybe they will come in and do to me what they have done to the doctor that spoke out huh? I guess they could take away my Social Security but I think thats already happening so guess I won’t worry about that any more huh? Maybe they will take away my veteran benefits, that’s possible because I sure dont believe in my government any more. So maybe I will join a few in tent city in the mountains of Montana with my dogs and cats. Oh well. You think i am nuts…nah…just honest, the writing is on the walls of the nations capital. Our Constitution is being burned a piece at a time and we are shamed.

Thanks for reminding us CJ. You’re preaching to a believer here. I hope the head shakers will loosen some of their cobwebs and take another look at where we are headed. No matter what our differences we can still work together for our common survival.I would be surprised if most actually cared much about anyone but themselves.

when the armed forces push endless war w/ multiple deployements - even when the troops show signs of PTSD - why do we wonder when the violence occurs somewhere besides the battlefield…....
and Fort Hood averages over 10 suicides a month…..a few months have seen 30+ suicides…..not to mention massive spousal abuse and multiple murders…...
and someone can get PTSD from being the shrink for troops suffering from PTSD…....
besides bankrupting the country the true costs of the endless war strategy is becoming increasingly clear…....
if you plant ice you’re going to harvest wind…...

Military enlistments are up. I would tell the soldies to quit their service and come home but it’s hard for them to give up a steady paycheck to face a questionable economy at home.
Unless I missed the ecomomic recovery. In that case soldiers “come on home”. We owe them, because we lied about the reason for war and let them die under false pretenses. Let’s save what we have left of them.

That’s a big reason why the Democrat’s enjoy a majority in both houses of Congress and the Presidency.
Ooops, but I guess they didn’t hear that continuing to vote funds for the war isn’t synonymous with bringing the troops home.

Last nite I watched “Nixon/Frost”. If you have not seen it, it is most interesting. This was another example of the manipulation of our government to get what they want at any cost, which is American lives, both in VN and America. Do not forget the battles and deaths on American Soil as a result of nixons lies and the lies of the rest of the government. But hey, they made a lot of money didn’t they!!! So here we are again today..different time…same situation!!! Only as iit was in the past (leading to this moment) this time we will lose our soverignty!!! Bet on it!

This is definitely a terrorist act but I bet that Oblaima will dictate that the military treat it as a criminal act. Sad.
By Rawhide on 11-11-09
Woody: Where did you get your stats? Or did you just make them up? Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome does not apply to Major Hasan. He has never been in combat or even outside the U.S. His contacts with Jihadist terrorists and yelling “Allah Ahkbar” when he began shooting make him a Jihadist terrorist. Wake up. Accept the truth.
By woody on 11-11-09
YOU can get PTSD and not have seen active duty combat. There is every indication that this shrink had PTSD - and all specialists in this area agree that one can get it from any stressful duty - and if you think listening to the horrors of war day in and day out - and have patients kill themselves doesn’t lead to PTSD then you are mistaken.
Google Dhar Jamil - a journalist that has reported extensively on PTSD.
ANd if Hasan was a terrorist then we have to admit that Tim McVeigh and the Tiller abortion doctor were terrorists also…... and they were Christians - so unless you are a racist hypocrite then we better start investigating all those terrorist Christians.
You can’t have it both ways.
Besides he was begging to be released from duty- and was willing to pay the army back what he owned after his 15 years he had already served.
DID everyone know that up to 25% of the redeployed soldiers ahve signs of PTSD and are simply recycled back into the war zones.
I’d say it’s a disaster waiting to happening but it’s become a disaster in real time at this point.
Unfortunately with the madness of these wars in Afganistan and Iraq this is going to happen again. Soldiers should not have to be subjected to multiple deloyments and with only a few months of leave in between…....

By the way; Thanks for your honesty and insight fellow veteran. Thanks CJ.Veterans Day formerly Armistice Day the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” 1918. The cessation of hostilities on the Western Front. Poppy Day.
French military casualties at Verdun, in 1916, are recorded as: 371,000
Total German casualties at Verdun, between February and December 1916, are recorded as 337,000 men.
I was fortunate enough to have been at Verdun and Fort Douaumont one Nov 11. look up Douaumont ossuary.
The United States entered the war on the side of the Entente Powers in 1917 and by the summer of 1918 had an army of around half a million men, this rising to a million by the time the Armistice was signed on November 11, 1918
Did I read there are 100,000 veterans in MT?
If they would agree on anything they could be a force for change. They could spend their money in concert. If they could agree on anything.
I think the earth can supply enough for everyone’s need but not enough for everyone’s greed.
Where did Jesus say to kill our enemies.
Do the religious organizations follow Jesus’ example?
If they say they are Christian but are not, get out, rebuke them.

Timothy McVeigh was definitely a U.S. terrorist, as is anyone who would deliberately target and kill innocent people. I don’t know of any TRUE religious faith (including Islam) that encourages or tries to justify killing innocent people. Extremists often distort religous teaching to justify their actions and dupe others to join them. In my oppinion, Dr. Tiller was not a true Christian.
By Billy on 11-11-09
Sometimes people are persuaded to believe a lie. It is easier for them accept the official version and avoid facing an uncomfortable truth. Perhaps you think it’s patriotic not to question authority. I must confess, I have had plenty of doubts from 1963 to present. I will make up my own mind even if the majority disagrees. Call me whatever suits you, find a hole that fits and stick your head in it, whatever. Thanks for taking time to write the posts everyone.
Farewell.

It is sad but true that religion is at the root of all evil. Don’t think for a minute that religious leaders in this country are not involved in politics (and visa versa) because they are. If we want to speculate on fanatical murderers in this country we only have to look at religious sects to see the results. There are many out there that use religion for sex, greed and control of thousands. In front of the religions stand the coporations that stand to take over the world, which by the way will allow the religions to strengthen. And in front of the corporations stand the government giving our country to the enemies and sending our boys to their death in countries they want to take over. Those of you who do not believe this is true, look at the suicides in the military but also look at the suicides in religion. When a person is so brainwashed that they are willing to commit suicide there is something really wrong here! When a person feels there is no other way out of the military but suicide or murder there is something really wrong here! I am not just talking about American suicides in religion but also suicides of any kind in any religion around the world. Some of our children (and I say children because thats what they are) in the foreign countries are so sick they have no idea what they are doing. Some are so drugged it is the same. They tell us about the suicides in the military on this side of the ocean but how many of these children stand up in front of a bullet over seas just to end their own suffering! They won’t say that’s a suicide will they? NO way..that was another young man that gave his life for his country!!! This is Veterans Day and it is the saddest day in my memory. Our children are dying, our country is being given away, our people are living in tents and our politicians give us lip service and try to force new burdens on a country that is sinking slowly (or maybe not) but surely! May God forgive us for allowing this to go on!!!

Wow CJ you are on a roll it seems that everything offends your high expectations for every one to fall in line with your way or the highway type thinking. Sounds a lot like you could start your own religion oh wait you already have one. Worship at CJ’s temple of enlightenment. Kool -Aid anyone?!!! By the way true Christians pray for people they do not Stone them.

Every religion has had a dark past, it just happens to be the Muslims that are in the spotlight at the moment. What this guy did was treason and he will be charged with it along with murder. He is a traitor, a bigot and a Islamic fundamentalist. He will be executed and until then, he will make a great wife for somebody in Leavenworth.
I don’t care if he was made fun of in the Military, I don’t care what religion he subscribes to and I don’t care that didn’t want to deploy. Could care less. The psychobabble on TV is just disgusting. The lamestream media is getting even worse. To hell with them too.
I am praying for the families of the fallen at Fort Hood.

Kokanee, were you ever on active duty? Ever kill another human being? Do you have PTSD? Sorry you don’t agree with me but thats your choice. I don’t have to agree with you either and until this country sinks, we both have that option, its called Freedom.
By the way, if you can catch it on cable watch “American Soldiers” to learn why our boys are commiting suicide and going AWOL! But if you don’t want to know the truth you will join the rest of the braindead in this country that believe we are there to “SAVE” the Iraq people and the people of Afghanistan. Uhuh…sure we are! Just watch the movie for enlightenment on the lives of these soldiers, it is based on FACT not fiction!
By Kokanee on 11-12-09
My comment was not about the issue at hand merely your attempt to scare everybody into believing what you are spewing to be truth. Sort of “Gospel” from CJ,s sermon on the mount. Sorry I do not believe things are simple as what you are saying there are too many factors in this world to say your correct.Yes I did serve my country, the latter question will be between me and what is beyond this earth.
By lp on 11-12-09
I have to say that I think that CJ and Billy do a huge dishoner to the soldiers that now serve an dhave served in the past. My husband served honorably in the 80’s and my son served and did his tour in Iraq and will deploy again in September. I think that all of your comments about brain washing and all of that is a disgrace and you should all be ashamed of the way you talk about our troops. Yes soldiers in vietnam did drugs. They chose too. No one has brainwashed my son. You have insulted him and you have insulted the friends that he lost in Iraq. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU THAT INSULT OUR SOLDIERS.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By Billy on 11-12-09
Dear Ip, This is a volunteer Army. Your son can make his choice to enlist or try and make it on the outside. I do not ask him to serve for me. Our national identity has been discraced by American conduct in the Middle East and in Viet Nam.Your filthy pornographic government has seen fit to murder men women and children in our name.
I’ve got an Honorable Discharge signed by William Westmorland . My dad dserved 20 yrs including a tour in Viet Nam. My uncles served in the South Pacific and Europe in WW2. My grandfathers fought in the Revolution against England and fought against their brothers in the War between the States as well as the Spanish American War. I am free to say what I believe. Why don’t you do a little research. Perhaps you should show a little shame for the shedding of innocent blood you bigot.
What business do you have in Afganistan or Iraq or Bosnia or Columbia or Pakistan.

I just have one more thing to say about this incident.
The police officer who responded, acted heroically, and deserves a Medal of Valor for her bravery in taking hits to her thighs and wrist, yet standing her ground focusing on the front sight and ending the fight with four good hits. I applaud her actions and courage under fire.
BUT WHY THE **** DID SHE EVEN NEED TO BE THERE?
WHY does a police officer have to save SOLDIERS on a military base?
Who is the moronic bureaucrat that came up with the idea that our own military must be disarmed on military installations?
WHO is it that made that decision? When you find out, THAT is the person responsible for all the deaths at Ft. Hood because had our military personnel been armed, as they should be, the response to a lone psychopath attempting to inflict mayhem would have been swift and sure! One dead terrorist, hit multiple times from multiple armed soldiers.
The Swiss and the Israelis must think we are absolute idiots to allow such a thing to happen.

In the Beginning..
“In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. i am done with this paper and the people who write their vile comments. There is no point in trying to have a battle of wits when you are fighting against people who are unarmed. You have insulted me and called me a bigot for no reason only because my opinion is no the same as yours. You accuse my son and nephews of atrocities for which you have no proof and you don’t know them. You condem all that do not follow your fringe beliefs and as long as this paper allows suuch horrible things to be said it is jsut as much to blame. You ae the people that give Montana and conservatives a bad name. If you do not like the way our government is being run then either do something about it or move to a counntry that better suits you.

Don’t go Ip. I only called you a bigot because I thought you supported the murder of brown skinned people. The vile attrocities Americans commited are well documented and to blindly support bombing and shock and awe in Bagdad and elsewhere without expressing your opposition is a cop out especially if you try to start waving the flag to justify your thinking. Go check out the veterans on youtube who oppose the wars then come back and tell us what you think about that.

Buffy Sainte-Marie
He’s five foot-two, and he’s six feet-four,
He fights with missiles and with spears.
He’s all of thirty-one, and he’s only seventeen,
Been a soldier for a thousand years.
He’a a Catholic, a Hindu, an Atheist, a Jain,
A Buddhist and a Baptist and a Jew.
And he knows he shouldn’t kill,
And he knows he always will,
Kill you for me my friend and me for you.
And he’s fighting for Canada,
He’s fighting for France,
He’s fighting for the USA,
And he’s fighting for the Russians,
And he’s fighting for Japan,
And he thinks we’ll put an end to war this way.
And he’s fighting for Democracy,
He’s fighting for the Reds,
He says it’s for the peace of all.
He’s the one who must decide,
Who’s to live and who’s to die,
And he never sees the writing on the wall.
But without him,
How would Hitler have condemned him at Dachau?
Without him Caesar would have stood alone,
He’s the one who gives his body
As a weapon of the war,
And without him all this killing can’t go on.
He’s the Universal Soldier and he really is to blame,
His orders come from far away no more,
They come from here and there and you and me,
And brothers can’t you see,
This is not the way we put the end to war.

BILL MOYERS: What do you value most? ANDREW BACEVICH: Well, I think the clearest statement of what I value is found in the preamble to the Constitution. There is nothing in the preamble to the Constitution which defines the purpose of the United States of America as remaking the world in our image, which I view as a fool’s errand. There is nothing in the preamble of the Constitution that ever imagined that we would embark upon an effort, as President Bush has defined it, to transform the Greater Middle East. This region of the world that incorporates something in order of 1.4 billion people.

http://www.veteranstoday.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=9352&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0How much easier it is to surrender to the will of superiors, to merge into the anonymity of the group. It takes uncommon courage to resist military powers of intimidation, peer pressure, and the atmosphere of racism and hate that drives all imperial wars.
