Comments on: Baucus Spokesman Calls Drunk Accusations ‘Slander’
By ThinkAgain on 12-29-09
Having been there once or twice, the Senator is clearly impaired! Not sure why you don’t see it. Perhaps you’ve never been there. He’s definitely not doing a heck-of-a-job for Montana. But doing better than Charlie Sheen.

OK,If someone on your payroll came into work / your company and started talking and acting like ths, would you continue to keep him on the payroll and subject your other employees to this behaviour?
Max was hammered.
No doubt about it.
By Roark on 12-29-09
He certainly sounds drunk, even if he isn’t. We know this fact; he is drunk on his own elitism.

YouTube MuleDrool
A senator from Montana was drinking
When he gave a slurred speech without thinking
But they embarrassed this rube
By putting the speech on YouTube
And he found his reputation was shrinking!
Yes he spoke in a puddle of drool.
With all the grace of an old braying mule!
Which leaves the nation to ponder,
Why did Montanans squander
Their votes on this slobbering fool?
So the next time Max takes to the floor,
Sober Senators should all head for the door.
When he gets so excited,
His breath might be ignited,
And the Congress might explode with a roar!

Chuck, That was brilliant! It should be set to music!

With the hiring of his “girlfriend”, his absence from Montana, and now his UTube video of appearing drunk….do not forget the other UTube video…..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axZQcTzS9HA
He really is an embarrassment to Montana! Fire him in 2014!

“When Obama talks it’s like hearing a symphony”...“Sen” Max
Had I known Sen. Bauccus had sadid this in a press conference in the Rose Garden I’d have sent him monogramed knee pads for Christmas.

Thanks Kellyn, nice article. The truth is always refreshing. Surprising and sad how many have been duped. I’ve watched the video, several of them, over and over. One I seen had definately been altered , as everything is drug out. He definately does not appear to be drunk. Tired and angry, yes, as he has every right to be. Those who tend to thrive on this will continue their repetitive rants until they come upon another unsuspecting victim and they will have a new body to tear apart.

I think that people on the other side of the eisle just want to believe that he was drunk because down deep they know he makes some good points in this speech. That seems to be happening a lot. If anyone does something right, their opposition just makes something terrible up that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
By BruiserND on 12-30-09
Dear Native,it is spelled “aisle”
Here’s another you may want to look up
Demagogy (also demagoguery) (Ancient Greek ?????????, from ????? d?mos “people” and ????? agein “to lead”) is a strategy for gaining political power by appealing to the prejudices, emotions, fears and expectations of the public—typically via impassioned rhetoric and propaganda, and often using nationalist, populist or religious themes.
Max is a drunken demagogue.
By Native on 12-30-09
Without spellcheck I am powerless.
I think that is a little dramatic. I’ve met Max on several occasions over the past 20 years and if I were to pick one word to describe him it would be “nerd”. He is socially awkward and mumbles when he talks. To think of him as a demagogue is extremely laughable. He’s not drunk, its just how he talks and appearently his poor speaking ability intensifies when he gets heated. The guy is a nervous nelly.

His entire career has been as a lawyer, and a senator. He does not have the experience to run anything, no less healthcare. Though, he is the #1 Obama fan!
From Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Baucus
“Baucus has come under fire from critics calling him a beltway insider who no longer really lives in Montana and only occasionally comes to visit.[54] Until 1991, Baucus owned a house in Missoula, where he practiced law for three years before running for Congress in 1974. He didn’t own a home again in Montana until February 2002, when he bought half of his mother’s house from the Sieben Ranch Company, the ranch started by Baucus’s great-grandfather in 1897. The ranch company, and Baucus’s mother, still own the other half of the house. Baucus has owned a home in Washington, D.C.‘s upscale Georgetown district since 1984. As of November 2007, the Missoulian newspaper reported he owned no other property in Montana”.

Max is still on the deed to a house in Helena that he shared with his ex-wife Wanda. That is the only property under HIS name that I could find in Montana. But you do have to consider that he is an heir to the 125,000 acre Sieben Ranch that is located at the Gates of the Mountains in Helena. Not that this means anything but I don’t think it is fair to hold his place of residence against him when he is a 5th generation Montanan that is from a family so deeply rooted in our States history. Don’t they all live in D.C. to some degree anyway?

The other side of the aisle and most comments here are disgusting. A man with a speech impediment gets up and speaks passionately about the truth of how Republican’s banded together to not compromise and block any health care reform that overwhelming has been asked for by majority of the people and all you can do is not listen, but without any proof call him drunk??? And Greg Barkus floats away on appeal…our society is at a new low.

“The first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem.”
Hopefully Montana can help America take that first step to recovery

Petition to Potentially Recall U.S. Senator Max Baucus, (D) Montana
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5Y9X5ggxzA
This petition is to survey the population of registered Montana voters who may have interest in recalling Senator Max Baucus from his elected position as senior US Senator from Montana. The recall of elected officials is allowed under Montana law, pursuant to Montana Code 2-16-603, on the grounds of physical or mental lack of fitness, incompetence, violation of oath of office, official misconduct, or conviction of certain felony offenses.
It is felt that Senator Baucus has shown incompetence in his duties by failing to adequately represent the majority of Montanans. It is also felt that Senator Baucus has violated his oath of office by failing to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. His actions and voting record show that he has gone beyond the Constitutional authority granted elected officials, and that he no longer represents the common citizen of Montana, but instead is swayed by special interest groups and party politics that are so prevalent in Washington DC.

I would imagine the ranch is a corporation and Max has some stakeholdings.A suprise intervention for Max would be a good Idea. Just bundle him up and we’ll let him dry out on a coyote hunting and icefishing trip with a dozen of his unemployed constituents. He can tell us his hard luck story. We’ll understand.

I kinda doubt if he will join up with the hicks in Montana anyway. Although he would be better off in a spiritual sense.Like Rasicot he will probably meld in with his Eastern Establishment brothers.
By Firebeam on 01-03-10
What is it with elected officials and booze??? And especially those from Montana? Baucus and Barkus. Maybe we could get group rates at the nearest treatment facility.
