i am outraged. how can max admit this now, and yet not do anything to slow the process down when it was happening. all we hear is how much clout max has back in DC and yet he didn’t DO a damn thing!

Obama put undue pressure on Congress to ramrod this bill onto his desk…that’s why it was not even read by most of Congress.

Baucus, your little “whoopsy-daisy” comment doesn’t help the situation that you so lovingly condemned us all to. Typical leftist politician; act first, think later (if at all)

This is what happens when the socialist leaning factions of the Democratic Party get their foot in the door. We need to start voting these people out of office the next chance we get.

typical republicans to not know history and blame the demos for the extreme debacle the righties caused…luckily for this country you are in the minority…..always complaining about a nickle for the common man but where’s the outrage over the shredding of the Constitution that occurred under bush..or the billion dolalr bonuse?.nowhere -
you call handouts to the corporations socialism….it is FASCISM - but then again you righties love fascism but are too unknowledgeable to understand the concept of your falsehoods
you are discredited except in a few outposts of civilization…keep drinking the koolaide factless republicans….
we wouldn’t need a stimulus bill if you brain-dead republicans hadn’t ruined the economy of the entire world thru your extreme geed and corruption… to now complain about the ADULTS who are now in charge shows just how out of touch w/ reality you all are….
thank GOD you are no longer in power….you rightwingnuts caused enough damage

The reporter is confusing/conflating last fall’s bailout bill with the 2009 economic stimulus bill. The AIG bailout has nothing to do with the stimulus bill. It was authorized under the 2008 Trouble Assets Relief Program (TARP), not the stimulus. The problem was authorizing the treasury last fall to give money to these banks in the first place, not that we failed to get bonus provisions in subsequent legislation. What did we expect these exectutives to do with this money?

Why do Dems aways think that those who take an opposing viewpoint from themselves are Republican? Take off your bipartisan colored glasses, will ya?
