FACT: Democrats love to spend other people’s money.

Your interpretation of the PAC limit is incorrect; a PAC can only contribute $130 to a candidate for legislative office in Montana. Candidates are limited to $1400 in total PAC receipts for the House, $2300 for the Senate. That means that the MEA-MFT PAC could only give a candidate $130. The limit governing Party committees is also an aggregate; for example, if the Flathead County Democrats gave $1,000 to a senate candidate, the Montana Democratic Party could only give them $50.
The Democratic candidates in the Flathead worked their butts off in some of the most heavily Republican seats in the state, and made races out of a number of seats that the Dems had not been competitive in for years. The money they raised was a testament to their hard work, and to the desire of a whole lot of individual donors in the area to change the tone of our representation in Helena.

Oh Roark:
You silly goose. Talk about a Johnny-One Note.
Let’s talk about the ever increasing federal deficit created over the past 12 years by a REPUBLICAN controlled Congress. Not to mention the last 6 years that included a REPUBLICAN in the Office of the President. But I don’t want to talk about that incompetency of incumbency right now. Nor do I want to talk about your smug and prejudiced hypocrisy. Nor do I want to talk about the recent spate of incidents involving sexually deviant Republicans.
Let’s stick to the issue at hand and your contention.
Please note a crucial point about the expenditure of OPM (other people’s money) in an electoral contest. It is given voluntarily!

Real quick Kalispell Native…
You say that a republican controlled congress and Presidency are to blame for a massive deficit? Quick note: Im pretty sure there was a pretty good majority (of democrats, and some top ones at that) that voted FOR the war to begin with… Hillary, Baucus, Biden, Daschle, Edwards… the list goes on to include all but 21 Democrats in the Senate (77% of senate in total). Seems like a pretty good list, huh? In fact, it almost seems like a lot of the Presidential Candidates…? So don’t talk about hypocrisy with us. All you dems do is create buzz in the nation and place blame on anyone (Bush) but yourselves when it comes to things like this. Remember, YOUR people helped start this, but when the going got tough, you ran like a bunch of sissies who couldn’t face an angry nation. Whether Bush is right or not about still being there today, at least he has the balls to finish what he started!!!
