Why don’t we teach our kids how to lay trap lines too.  This would enhance the “Montana Image” of our moral history!  And while we are at it I think women should be allowed to shoot from cars too.  After all, you can’t expect women to haul a 150 to 300 pound carcass out of the wilderness.  Oh wait, I forgot.  It’s only the heads and some meat wanted right?  The rest is dumped in parks or the back woods, so maybe women could handle that.  If you want to see the dumped carcass all you have to do is go to Leisure Park and walk a little way and you will find them everywhere.  Or maybe that’s where they are being “shot from the car”.  Yeah we need to educate our kids on killing and get them off those damn computers (playing GAMES that kill) and out into the REAL WORLD of death!!!  HUNTER’S UNITE, GET YOUR KIDS OUT THERE SO WE CAN KEEP UP OUR REPUTATION OF THAT LAST BEST PLACE TO SLAUGHTER!!!

hey freedom what is with this rant? all the hunters i know here in Montana keep and eat what they kill as it helps with the food bill. there are many freezers in montana with game that helps feed families. maybe we should do like winsconsin did years ago and for all pratical purposes ban hunting. they had so many deer that in just a few years that the deer killed several species by eating those aminals habitat. then the deer started to starve in their thousands. they were nothing but bones with skin wrapped around them. they had to be shot and buried in holes dug by backhoes. more than 50,000 were buried that way ! i was there to see it and help bury them. then they changed the hunting laws again to unsure it never happened again. when all the top predators are taken out of a ecosystem it goes haywire! well human hunters have replaced the predators that were killed off by housing devlopments and all the other forms of progress. learn what you are talking about before you rant.

The hunting enthusiasts must face the reality that the harvesting of the biggest and the best, only results in causing the weakest and the worst to become the breeding stock.

This is why deformed deer are often found in the Bitterroot Valley.

If the deer get in your garden now, you should thank the trapper who solves “wildlife problems” by the eradication of coyotes.

I can see why the hunters get pissed off hunting up the Blackfoot, see nothing on public land all day, then drive by “Paws Up”  and see hundreds on elk on thousands of acres of private land, recently closed to hunting by Nevada deadbeat, David Lipson.  Creditors must sue to receive payment, shades of Yellowstone Club.

The newcomers are destroying this place.

Very offensive rant there Freedom on !
1. I am a woman that hunts.
2. I have never shot an animal from my vehical.
3. I’ve NEVER left the body behind, choosing to only take a head !
4. Yeah, get ready for this one…. I also skin, and then cut up that wonderful meat into steaks, roasts, burger ( even make sausage, and jerky out of it !)
5. I have elk, and deer meat in the freezer. Hopefully enough to get us to this fall.
6. We have taught our children to hunt. ( Not children anymore)  There is a respectful way to hunt, there is responsibilty in teaching your kids how to properly use a firearm, and there is a beautiful Montana tradition that flows from parent to child in every hunting camp that erects in the mountains on a crisp fall day !

Point being :  If you choose not to hunt/ or plain out think it’s wrong, well then it’s your right not to participate !
BUT do not go smearing the reputation of us that do hunt with such mindless outrage, and generalizing all of us with the few bad seeds out there.

Yeay for you granny.  But Great Idea is right.  You and most hunters will look for the biggest and the best.  In your defense you do it right (maybe) but what do you do with the carcass left over.  According to F&G (and me personally) many of those carcasses are just dumped in the woods.  Now many of you will say that is ok they are feeding other animals but when you walk through a park every day and find a new carcass and its not even hunting season, that is wrong.  So don’t tell me all hunters are like you Granny.  Like trappers, these good old boys will kill anytime they want and like trappers they will maime too.  Why do you think no one wants guns in Glacier.  If these idiots will shoot animals or trap animals in our state or county parks (and they do) they will certainly do it in the national parks too.  Get off your high horse granny and look at reality.  Teaching children to kill is not a healthy way to raise children,  My outrage is not mindless, they will see in their generation the real outrage of killing (as yours already are).  As to Brian.  Well maybe your right Brian.  We have taken away their natural predators and now the only thing left is US.  Mother Earth will get even, guaranteed!!!

Bad news to break to you, it is not only through hunting that children learn of where that meat comes from, it’s not cruel, it is part of life.  On a ranch a kid learns that steer that was fed grain = the beef on your dinner plate. That rooster turned mean, or that hen that stopped laying = a bubbling pot of chicken noodle soup. The eggs that can hold cute baby chicks = equals the coating on your slice of french toast !  I think the even more damage is to neglect reality.  It’s not a warm fuzzy world, the food you ate came from the death of another.  ” Give a man a fish you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime !”.  As said before everyone is entitled to their way of thinking, but dont generalize all of us, do not punish all for the bad of one, and DO NOT tell me what was healthy for raising my kids, must not of been to bad, I’m on to grandkids now !!!!!!!!!!!!
I do not run you down, thumb my nose because you do not think like me, so please in turn do not stand from your life style saying we should all think like you !
I am capable of respecting your differances, and did not say anything to offend…......
Please allow me the same extent of respect !

PS I was hunting at a young age, I’ve lived my life right by the creator, right by my husband of 22 years, raised my family, paid the taxes, and played by all the rules…....... Hmm maybe instilling those values are a good thing ?
