I do understand some what the concerns about “fracking”.

But, from what I have seen many times in Browing area & most of the Blackfoot
Reservation….they ought to be concerned with FIRST….the GARBAGE….all over their
HOMELAND.
If the Blackfoot have a 2nd flag….its the garbage flying all around. First things first….if they Love
the Land….start showing it. Clean up your one LARGE “GREEN/DIRTY”  BOX….and then
proceed with some eyes toward Fracking.

It can be easier to track fracking…..with taking water samples from the wells…NOW, store, mark,
keep in a canning jar….for tracking changes. Quit sitting back an waiting for outsiders to keep
your land pristine….to which its far from it. And, the $$$ from any oil or gas revenue….sure would
give some Blackfeet…..HOPE…..where they desperately need some for sure.

“Hydraulic fracturing, better known as “fracking,” requires millions of gallons of water,
chemicals and sand to be pumped into the ground to break up dirt….”

My next door neighbor drives the trucks to the pads in North Dakota.  He says their pumping
DIESEL FUEL into the ground…..NOT WATER.  DIESEL FUEL.

But I’m sure that’s TOTALLY HEALTHY for the environment….........the oil companies said so.

JCW: They are pumping diesel into what ground?? If you knew anything about it, you wouldn’t
make such un-educated statements. The formation they are pumping it into is oil
bearing “ground”, as you like to call it. What is diesel? nothing but refined oil which comes right
out of the very formation they are pumping it into. All of you clowns who think you know so
much about it should educate yourself a little first, before spewing your false beliefs.

Such a display of scary advocacy journalism.  Here is something overlooked by this piece:
http://www.investorpoint.com/news/OTCBULLB/49756713/

===quote===
Ecosphere Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:ESPH), a diversified water engineering, technology licensing
and environmental services company, today announced that the Company, its majority-owned
subsidiary, Ecosphere Energy Services LLC, and its sub-licensee, Hydrozonix LLC (collectively,
the “Ecosphere Partners”) have signed a Letter of Commitment with the Blackfeet Nation to
provide Ecosphere’s Ozonix water treatment services to oil and gas companies conducting
hydraulic fracturing (“fracking” or “fracing”) operations on the 3,000 square mile Blackfeet
reservation in Montana. Ecosphere Partners will be the exclusive provider of water treatment
services on the Blackfeet reservation.

The Ecosphere-Blackfeet commitment will make available to operators a non-chemical approach for
treating and reusing 100% of their flowback and produced waters on the reservation. Use of
Ecosphere’s Ozonix technology will not only help preserve the Blackfeet Nation’s water
resources, but also eliminate the need to truck wastewater to disposal sites off reservation,
thereby improving the economics of shale oil and gas exploration on the reservation. This
exclusive services agreement is part of a broad effort by the Blackfeet Nation to sustainably
develop their heritage lands, bring jobs to tribal members and improve the economic well-being
of the tribe.

“We chose to partner with Ecosphere and Hydrozonix after spending significant time and effort
evaluating all available water treatment technologies in the market,” said Grinnell Day Chief,
Oil and Gas Manager for the Blackfeet Tribe. “We have visited the frac sites where Ecosphere is
replacing traditional chemicals with Ozonix for its customers and recycling 100% of their
waters. By providing the oil and gas companies operating on our land with access to this
environmentally sound and cost-effective technology, we are reinforcing our commitment to
improving the quality of life for our people through economic development of our energy
resources while also preserving our vital natural water resources for future generations.”

“Partnering with the Blackfeet Nation to assist the tribe in their commitment to sustainably
develop their lands is totally in keeping with the Ecosphere mission to provide environmental
wastewater treatment solutions across industries, nations and ecosystems. The Ozonix technology
has been used by Ecosphere and our licensee, Hydrozonix LLC, to treat more than one billion
gallons of water on approximately 500 oil and natural gas wells since 2008,” said Charles
Vinick, Chairman and CEO of Ecosphere Technologies. “This is an important opportunity to work
with the Tribe to provide jobs for their members and to help the tribe realize their development
goals for profitable and environmentally responsible hydraulic fracturing operations.”

SAWYER:  My neighbor, a long time friend, says they are using DIESEL FUEL as fracking fluid.  I
have no reason whatsoever not to believe him.

It’s not an uneducated guess.  It’s first-hand information from someone who is SEEING IT DONE.

I trust his word over your dumb*** comments.

To be fair, the Flathead Beacon did report on this innovative technology back in March.

Why didn’t Mr. Franz build on this previous piece instead of acting like it didn’t exist?

Just a question…after you have taken water samples which if not done by a trusted company who
can put their tags on saying it was done right, but as you said just putting in a jar and dating it and
telling where it came from..Well I suppose a town clerk could say it was done right…If after doing
this and it is found fracking did ruin the well what happens then…from all I understand and by the
looks that is not much since the infrormtion seems to change from fracking spot to fracking
spot….What happems to the water…it is ruin and you can NOT bring back good water to a bad
well…what can be done then…is it not better to NOT ruin the water to begin with…. Yes I know all
the arugments about how we need to stop being dependant on oil from over seas..and how the
companies who frack are careful..But water is one thing we can not live without.. we can go back
to horse and buggy if we have to but without water we are up the rope and no way down.

Just for the heck of it hotfishmt if they were going to frack beside your home tomorrow would you
stay put or think about moving it is easy to say this or that when it is not being done where you live.
If it was me I’d be looking into all I could do to save the land around me.

East Glacier (on the reservation, east of the river on Hwy. 2) water tests of several years ago
declared the water unuseable. Glacier silt. A cistern would have to be built to hold water
trucked in. The test was made to satisfy the Army Corps of Engineers that a septic would not
potentially be damaging to underground water quality. Results: water is not good. Shouldn’t be
used.

Montana Trace, actually the East Glacier water problem is giardia and other nasty micro bugs.
Most of the water is from surface sources.

This was a drilled test, as required by the Corps of Engineers. About 1.5 miles from the river.
Don’t remember how deep. Maybe 120 feet? It’s been many years. At least five. There was no
surface water on my friends land.
