The potential introduction of the European CLT technology is very exciting news and these gentlemen are to be congratulated for their foresight.  As Vice President of APA - The Engineered Wood Association I travel to Europe annually and have been following the evolution of this technology for the past 10 years.  One of the hurdles the developers of this technology may face is building code acceptance since there are no current code provisons to permit this type of construction.  When CLT is used in Europe it is usually on a project by project basis requiring an engineers certification.  This could be quite costly for home consruction in the U.S.  As a 3rd party certification agency we would be pleased to discuss this with the owners of this new company.

Thanks TGW for the praise. we are excited to enter the APA process. We feel strongly that North America is finally ready to take the leap to more advanced building methods and we are proud to be at the forefront of this movement.
