Well said Bill.  I don’t even bother watching these “hunting” shows due to the facts you mentioned above.  I remember one particular show that had a bait machine right next to a very well travelled road on a “huge game farm” in the lone star state.  All the while, the guy was hunkered down in an elevated condo, speaking just above a whisper before he launched some lead at the buck. 

Anyway, well put.

I fully support the position you set forth in this article.  Hunting, as a sport and a way of life, should be less about using of the technological and intelligence advantage of man over beast, and more about the challenge on mother nature’s playing field.  I salute hunters who approach the process responsibly rather than as something they can get away with, even if what they can get away with is legal.
